Legendary hip-hop group from Cleveland, Ohio, formed in 1991 — Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone, and Flesh-N-Bone. After buying one-way bus tickets to LA and auditioning for Eazy-E backstage at his Cleveland show, they signed to Ruthless Records in 1993. Their album E. 1999 Eternal (1995) was a commercial juggernaut, and “Tha Crossroads” — a tribute to Eazy-E — won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance in 1997. MTV called them “the most melodic hip-hop group of all time,” and their pioneering blend of rapid-fire lyrical delivery with gospel-influenced harmony has influenced generations of artists. They are the only rap group to have collaborated with Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., and Eazy-E while all were still alive.
