Rock band from Germantown, MD, formed in 1991 — Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums). Shaped by the same DC/Maryland scene that spawned Bad Brains and Fugazi, Clutch went on to become one of rock’s most respected long-haul bands. Since 2008 they’ve operated on their own Weathermaker Music label, releasing seven straight top-10 albums on the Independent Albums chart. Earth Rocker (2013) hit #15 on the Billboard 200, and Classic Rock Magazine named both Earth Rocker and Psychic Warfare among the 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s. Their latest, Sunrise on Slaughter Beach (2022), adds another slab to one of rock’s most dense and revered catalogs.
