Eli Young Band is an American country music group consisting of Mike Eli (lead vocals, guitar), James Young (guitar), Jon Jones (bass), and Chris Thompson (drums). Eli and Young first crossed paths as college students at the University of North Texas, where they began writing and performing together before Jones and Thompson rounded out the lineup. What started as a grassroots operation built on relentless touring and authentic Texas country has grown into one of the genre’s most enduring acts.
The band has charted four No. 1 singles — the 4x Platinum “Crazy Girl,” 2x Platinum “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and Platinum hits “Love Ain’t” and “Drunk Last Night” — earning them Billboard’s Country Song of the Year and the ACM Award for Song of the Year, plus Grammy and CMA nominations along the way. Their career catalog has amassed over 3 billion streams, putting them in rare company as Pandora Billionaires.
True to their reputation as a band that plays their own instruments and writes their own songs, EYB has shared stages with Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, and Dave Matthews Band, all while staying deeply connected to the live show experience that built their following from the ground up. More than two decades in, Eli Young Band continues to write, tour, and evolve — with the same hearts-on-fire energy that’s always set them apart.
