Emo/post-hardcore band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2001 (originally as A Day in the Life). Known as one of the defining acts of mid-2000s emo, their first two albums — The Silence in Black and White (2004) and If Only You Were Lonely (2006) — both went Gold, with the latter hitting #3 on the Billboard 200. Songs like “Ohio Is for Lovers” and “Saying Sorry” became genre anthems. The band weathered the 2007 death of guitarist Casey Calvert, label disputes, and lineup changes before emerging independent and stronger. Their latest album, The Rain Just Follows Me (2021, Pure Noise Records), reunited them with Grammy-winning producer Cameron Webb. Currently on the Lonely World Tour celebrating 20 years of If Only You Were Lonely.
