Genre-defying alternative/indie band formed in 2013 at Appalachian State University by vocalist Ela Melo (she/her) and guitarist Darrick “Bozzy” Keller. The band expanded to a four-piece and signed to Elektra Records. Their 2018 album How To: Friend, Love, Freefall — featuring “Hide” and “Fever Pitch” (#34 Alternative) — helped them become one of indie music’s most streamed acts, now surpassing 2 billion global streams. Their latest album, bones (September 2025), produced by Grammy-winner Jay Joyce, has earned praise from the LA Times, Billboard, and beyond. The current bones Tour includes amphitheater and arena dates across North America, the UK, and Australia.
